13th July 2001
Plymouth Arts Centre, 38 Looe Street, Plymouth
The V01D symposium is intended to provide an opportunity for practitioners to see some of the best local, national and international methods and solutions for visualizing architectural ideas. Running parallel to the symposium is the V01D Digital Architecture show, also held in the Plymouth Arts Centre, where delegates will have the opportunity to see the work and projects by many of the speakers.
Real Projects
The content of the day's symposium will be largely made up of real projects that have employed a broad range of new technologies to achieve architectural experiences and representations. Technologies will include new 3D rendering software, virtual reality systems, database and network technologies and video compositing tools.
In inviting architects and those involved in new media it is hoped that the two creative fields may identify new opportunities to expand, express and explore aspects of their current business potential. As digital technology becomes more accessible to small businesses the potential for practitioners to express themselves more dynamically and vividly is being increasingly being exploited in many professional and business fields. This symposium offers the chance to learn how this can be applied to the creative world of architectural design.
